NeuroFit:

The human nervous system is plastic. Even with a chronic or degenerative neurological condition, it is possible to engage in therapeutic exercises with supervision or special equipment to provide stability and safety as one exercises to maintain memory skills, cardiopulmonary and neuromuscular fitness as well as independence and quality of life.

  • Brain Fitness
    Participate in learning-based memory training using the brain training programs from Positscience.com. Individuals may sign up for 40 hours of learning brain training to improve memory (spread over 10-40 weeks) or participate in a combination of learning-based memory and physical motor training (10-40 weeks). If you have the proper computer equipment at home, you can purchase this training CD to use at home. It costs $355 at Positscience.com.

Pelvic Power:

Research demonstrates that strengthening the pelvic floor musculature prevents urinary incontinence later in life. Strong pelvic floor muscles provide necessary support for the pelvic organs and help create spinal stability. Join Pelvic Power and strengthen these vital, often overlooked muscles. Learn to integrate strong pelvic floor muscles into acomprehensive spinal strengthening program.

Stand Tall:

Most of us will have a back problem at some point in our lives. Come and learn how to stabilize your spine and enjoy work and recreation. Even when faced with surgery and aging, an appropriate exercise program can maintain our independence and the quality of our life

StressLess:

Got Stress? Learn how to Stress Less in this interactive stress management and relaxation training program. Reduce your stress levels, expand your support network, and benefit from sharing your experience with others in a small group setting.

Physical Therapy Consultation:

If you have some pain, weakness or limited motion that worries you, come for a brief evaluation by a physical therapist who can help assess the problem, make recommendations for treatment or recommend a referral.

WaterFit:

Exercise in water can be beneficial emotionally and psychologically for those with neuromusculoskeletal problems.


TeenFit:

This program is exercise-intensive, and will also include a strong focus on integrating stress management and healthy habits into daily life. Classes meet two times a week to provide education and practice in the following; basic and progressive weight training for individuals with specific injuries and/or health concerns, cardiopulmonary conditioning in a safe, supportive environment, coordination and balance work, guidance and support with dietary concerns, introduction to stress management and guidance for integrating healthy habits into daily life. Emphasis will be placed on exercises and activities that can be replicated outside the gym environment.

CardioFit:

CardioFit is a maintenance program designed for patients that have graduated from a Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation program and/or participants with cardiovascular risk factors interested in making long-term lifestyle changes. This program is designed for individuals who have heart disease or are at a high risk for having a heart attack and have the potential for improvement.

Primary Prevention:

This cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal program is for individuals with chronic disease and will be supervised by a licensed physical therapist. Classes will focus on safely developing the fitness, exercise and health behaviors needed to improve quality of life in the face of impairments secondary to health challenges. Classes will emphasize cardiopulmonary fitness, posture, balance, strength and flexibility through exercise. Tips on nutrition, hydration and stress management will be provided.
