
DPTSc Admissions Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the UCSF/SFSU DPTSc Program, a student must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program
- Hold a license to practice physical therapy in the State of California or be eligible for licensure in California
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or better in both undergraduate and graduate studies
- Have completed undergraduate coursework equivalent to the prerequisites for the entry level UCSF/SFSU MS program in Physical Therapy
- Basic Sciences:
Anatomy, Physiology, Physics, Chemistry
- Behavioral and Applied Sciences:
Introductory Statistics, Computer Science
- Social Sciences:
Psychology, Abnormal Psychology
- Obtain a minimum of 500/section of the GRE and 450 on the Writing Test
- Have documented evidence of leadership in the profession or in their graduate professional studies
- Submit three strong letters of recommendation
- Provide a clear statement of professional goals and rationale for pursuing a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy Science
- Have a history of leadership in the profession within the community
- Have prior experience participating or working in clinical research and be interested in developing their skills as a clinical researcher
- Be interested in developing skills as an educator
- Be able to read, write, and clearly speak English with documented competency
